Announcing a second series of the Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp 

Our January 2017 Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp sold out quickly and there are still many enthusiastic photographers who want to learn about the wonderful world of digital cameras and photography.

I want to thank everyone for supporting our amazing digital camera classes and am excited to announce another chance to enrol in our popular Digital Camera Bootcamp. The next Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp starts April 12th. Here are the details for you:

Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp
Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp starts April 12th 2017.

Beginners Digital Camera Bootcamp consists of three-hour sessions on Wednesday nights for eight consecutive weeks. All sessions include a mix of theory in the classroom, as well as practical instruction. Participants have opportunities for shooting photographs on two field trips, as well as reviewing and discussing their images with their instructor.

Session 1 (April 12th 2017 from 6-9 pm):

Introduction to photography, how digital cameras work, digital photography workflow basics, auto focus versus manual focus, digital image optimization

Session 2 (April 19th from 6-9 pm):

ISO, understanding camera setting modes and exposure controls, intro to using the Histogram.

Session 3 (April 26th from 6-9 pm):

Metering methods, reading a Histogram, using manual mode, White Balance.

Session 4 (May 3rd from 6-9 pm):

Creative uses for aperture and shutter, depth of field and motion; selective focus/shallow depth of field.

Session 5 (May 10th from 6-9 pm):

Composition guidelines – rule of thirds, texture, color, point of view and seeing in shapes and forms; macro photography guide lines.

Session 6 (Saturday May 13th from 10am to 1pm):

Photo Field Trip (three hours of outdoor photography with instructor) including practical exercises, ways to refine composition and using camera controls. (Location to be announced)

Session 7 (May 17th from 6-9 pm):

Review field trip images, and discussion for Night Scene Photography guide lines.

Session 8 (Friday May 19th from 7-10 pm):

Photo Field Trip for Night Scene Photography. Please bring your tripod. (Location to be announced)

Prerequisites: 

Beginner. No previous photography experience required.

Class size: Maximum 9 participants.
