For this Monday #PhotoClue, I want to answer a popular question; “What is Viewfinder Diopter Adjustment Dial?”.
In digital SLRs or Mirrorless cameras, you look through the camera lens when you look through the viewfinder. While the camera autofocus system focuses precisely on the object, you may still see the image blurry inside the viewfinder, especially if you wear corrective lenses. It means that the camera’s Diopter is off. Therefore, you see a fuzzy view, although it is focused and sharp.
Does it sound familiar? Don’t worry; the fix is quite simple.

How to adjust the Viewfinder Diopter?
Adjusting the Viewfinder Diopter is easy. To fix the problem, follow these steps:
1- Set your camera on a tripod or a platform that stabilizes the camera.
2- Press the shutter release button halfway to engage the Autofocus.
3- Stare through the camera while turning the little dial or knob found next to your viewfinder (the one with the +/-). Once the scene is sharp (assuming the lens is focused), you’re done!
It is an effortless fix that can prevent frustration.
