Canon 5D Mark III First Impression – WOW!
We have just added a Canon 5D Mark III and Canon EF 24-105 f4 IS to our rental line up. For quite sometime I have been reading reviews and field tests on Canon 5D Mark III Vs 5D Mark IV, to make the decision. All tests are inside my office, as it was raining for the past few days. The camera was set to ISO 6400, Shutter speed at 1/60s and f4 for all these photos. My first impression was WOW! Canon 5D Mark III Firmware Update
I just noticed that there is a new Firmware update for Canon 5D Mark III. If you own a Canon 5D Mark III, I strongly suggest to upgrade the Firmware to new version which is “1.3.5”. You can find the Firmware update in Canon website or click the link below.

Light Metering Test
All the metering modes worked very well, specially the Spot metering that previous Canon cameras had a little issue. Auto Focusing Test
The new Canon 5D Mark III Crosshair Auto Focusing system is unbelievably accurate. I took this photo at f4 and at 105mm.
I marked the focusing point and it is razor sharp at the point.
Even when you zoom to 100% view, the focused area is very sharp and the shallow depth of field created a very creamy effect on the foreground and background. Even at f4 I got quite nice Bokeh from the light in the background.

For now I am quite impressed with the image quality and performance.
