Landscape Photography and Manual Shooting

In photography, Manual Shooting has many benefits. Generally speaking, in manual shooting, you control the exposure the way that you envisioned the image, so your camera cannot interfere with the settings.

What are the advantages of Manual Shotting?

Firstly, in manual shotting, photographers make sure that the photographs are correctly exposed. For instance, you may want to take a picture of a bird fly in the sky. Even though you use the spot metering, the camera may set the exposure inaccurate. Therefore, the bird would be underexposed.

However, in Landscape photography, you can successfully use a semi-automatic (aperture or shutter priority) settings. Thus there are times, especially in high contrast lighting, that the camera cannot make the correct exposure for your main subject. In fact, most landscape photographers prefer manual shooting for the same reason. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”23663″ img_size=”600×600″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”fadeIn” title=”Manual Shooting”][vc_column_text]

So, are you a Manual Shooter?

If you haven’t tried manual shooting yet, I encourage you to start shooting in manual. As a matter of fact, 90% of my students shoot in manual and do not want to go back to the other settings.

But Shooting Manually is hard, isn’t it?

In reality, manual shooting is not difficult at all. You just need to learn the guidelines and practice them. When you master these guidelines, you will find out that manual shooting is more fun![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”23664″ img_size=”600×600″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”fadeIn” title=”Manual Shooting”][vc_column_text]
