Photoshop Tips for Stamp, Healing, and Patch Tools
Photoshop is the best digital retouching tool in the market; with so many tools it sometimes seems they overlap each other. In this edition of Photoshop Tips I am going to look at a few of these wonderful tools and discuss their differences. So grab a cup of joe and join me as we explore the amazing world of Photoshop![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”bounceInRight”]
Photoshop Tip # 1
Stamp or Clone Tool
Stamp or Clone Tool (shortcut letter S) copies the targeted area and pastes to the selected area. You can adjust the appearance of the border via the Hardness setting of your brush. Stamp Tool does not try to blend the areas together. It just copies and pastes over, which means that if the selected area has a different texture than the targeted area, the texture of targeted area overwrites the texture of selected area.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”18430,18431″ img_size=”600×400″ css_animation=”bounceIn” title=”Photoshop Clone (Stamp) Tool”][vc_column_text css_animation=”bounceInRight”]
Photoshop Tip # 2
Spot Healing Brush
Unlike the Stamp tool, Spot Healing Brush tries to recreate a uniform or similar result. You don’t need to select a target area because the Spot Healing Brush works on your selected area by analyzing it.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”18433,18434″ img_size=”600×400″ css_animation=”bounceIn” title=”Photoshop Spot Healing Brush Tool”][vc_column_text css_animation=”bounceInRight”]
Photoshop Tip # 3
Healing Brush Tool
Healing Brush Tool works just like the Spot Healing Brush and behaves like the Stamp Tool. You can call it a hybrid of Stamp tool and Spot Healing Brush, if you wish! Healing Brush Tool examines the selected area and applies uniformity to the targeted area to match it with the selected area. To use the Healing Brush tool you need to select the targeted area first (just like you would when using the Stamp tool).[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”18435,18436″ img_size=”600×400″ css_animation=”bounceIn” title=”Photoshop Healing Brush Tool”][vc_column_text css_animation=”bounceInRight”]
Photoshop Tip # 4
Patch Tool
If you need to retouch an area of the image, for example a black suit with small pieces of lint, and you want the exact texture copied, look no further than the Patch Tool. Patch Tool works like a Lasso tool, which allows you to make a selection around the targeted area and apply it to the selected area. Depending on the settings for your Patch area (Content Aware settings) the Patch tool recreates a patch to match the selected area as well as having the content of the targeted area.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”18437,18438″ img_size=”600×400″ css_animation=”bounceIn” title=”Photoshop Patch Tool”][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1486412037565{background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Stay tuned for more Photography and Photoshop articles.
