Ted’s Lightroom Tips: LIGHTROOM RADIAL FILTER

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Lightroom Radial Filter

Lightroom Radial Filter is one of the best tools.

There are times that photographers want to make main subjects more visible. For instance, to showcase the main item in a photo and avoid blending.

One Minute Lightroom Tip.

In this example, the background is too busy and blends with the model. I want to darken the background while keeping the model bright to make her more visible. Here is how I edited the image.

1- Open an image in Lightroom Develop and apply all global adjustments as needed.

2- Select the “RADIAL FILTER,” click on the image and drag to create an oval selection on the main subject.

3- Adjust the exposure to darken the entire photo but the model’s face.

4- Then, I created a RADIAL Filter for her jacket, clicked on the INVERT box, and adjusted the brightness to match her face.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/x-7XRr2s7k0″ title=”Lightroom Radial Filter”][vc_column_text]That is all there is to it. Give it a try and let me know.
It is just the tip of the iceberg! There are many more uses for Lightroom RADIAL Filter.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
