Distractions, dusty sensor

Wednesday Photography Tips: SAY NO TO AUTO EXPOSURE

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Why should you say NO to Auto Exposure?

The Auto and P (Program) are fully automatic camera exposure settings. It means that your camera controls the exposure, and you have little to no control over the exposure settings.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Here are a few scenarios that Auto Exposure fails to perform:
For instance, if you want to take pictures of your kids playing ball, you need to use a faster shutter speed to freeze the movement. However, in Auto mode, your camera does not increase the shutter speed, and you will end up with a blurry image.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”22363″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” title=”Fast Shutter Speed”][vc_column_text]On the other note, if you want to take pictures of a waterfall and create the cloudy effect of running water, the Auto mode does not use a slower shutter speed. Therefore, the final photos will be disappointing![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”22361″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” title=”Slow Shutter Speed”][vc_column_text]

Say NO to Auto Exposure!

To avoid these upsetting results, I suggest using a semi-automatic setting such as shutter priority or aperture priority.
