Tofino, Ucluelet and Surrounding Area Photo Tour
Join us for a photography weekend in and around Pacific Rim National Park on the pristine West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Marine wildlife, old-growth forests, rugged coastlines, dramatic sunsets and pristine beaches offer endless photography possibilities.
You will spend two days exploring this magnificent area with two master photographers, Ted Karlsalr and Brett Michaud, providing guidance and advice along the way.

Workshop Itinerary
Workshop ItineraryThis tour will include sessions both in the field and in the classroom.
Our itinerary will commence on October 18, 2024, in Ucluelet at precisely 6 p.m. We will meet and greet you will have a two-hour workshop to check your equipment and cover the photography and editing techniques we will use during the tour.
On October 19, we will begin our day early at 6 a.m. and drive to Tofino to capture the breathtaking sunrise over the Long Beach or Chesterman area, depending on the weather (around 7:10- 8:30), which will surely leave you amazed. Following that, we will drive to Pacific Rim National Park to photograph the Old G Cedar trees and the surrounding areas.
There will be a one-hour lunch break before we head to discover the wild beauty of Ucluelet beaches and trails.
Later in the day, we will head back to Ucluelet Big Beach to complete photographing the site and take sunset photos, which will end around 7 p.m.
After having a one-hour Dinner break, we will gather at the hotel lobby to discuss editing skills. The workshop will close around 9–10 p.m., providing plenty of time to rest and reflect on the day’s photographic opportunities.
On October 20, we will have a conclusion session at 8 a.m. for about an hour to recap our weekend and review the photographs taken.
Finally, the tour will close at 9 a.m.

- Composing landscape photographs
- Wildlife photography
- Safety around wildlife
- Eco-photography principles
- Photographing water
- The use of polarizers
- The use of neutral-density filters
- Night sky photography techniques (weather permitting.)
The shorter days at this time of year mean we can go out for the best light of the day and even take in the Milky Way while still getting to bed at a reasonable hour.

* Please note that there may be opportunities to carpool with other tour participants to limit the number of vehicles travelling to the various destinations. We will assist with these arrangements on the first night of the tour.

Registration and Cancelation Policy:
By registering for this event, you agree that you have read and understood the following:
The registration deposit ($500) is non-refundable but is transferrable. It is acceptable if you can find someone to take your spot and buy your ticket from you. Email (email here) to confirm a transfer.
Please ensure you can travel and abide by all health and safety travel recommendations for Canada, British Columbia, and your home location if you book a spot. It is your responsibility to ensure you can do the workshop.
Participants may not attend if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 and must abide by the current COVID-19 restrictions at the time of the workshop.
Participants will be given the option to postpone or receive a refund if the Parks or the venue cannot host the workshop (such as in a lockdown situation).
Omnilargess Photography and Brett Michaud Photography reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time. The cancellations could occur for a variety of reasons, such as a minimum number of participants is not met, a family emergency, unforeseen circumstances impacting the workshop, etc. In the event of cancellations that are under the control of Omnilargess Photography and Brett Michaud Photography, participants will receive a full refund for the workshop. No compensation would be made to participants for any other associated costs such as, but not limited to, travel, hotels, etc. Participants should have travel insurance.
You, for yourself, your heirs, executors or anyone else who may claim on your behalf, hereby waive, release and forever discharge Omnilargess Photography, Ted Karlsalr, Brett Michaud Photography and Brett Michaud, assistants, and affiliates, representatives, executors, and all others from any and all responsibilities or liability from personal injury, death, damage to property or loss of any kind resulting from participation in a photography workshop event.
This release extends and applies to, and also covers and includes all unknown, unforeseen, unanticipated and unsuspected injuries, damages, loss and liability. You are responsible for researching the event and bringing the proper gear.
Your attendance at any event confirms that you have read and accepted the terms of this liability waiver. By signing up for this event, you understand that you are attending at your own risk.
