Haloween Photography Tips

It is Time for Haloween Photography Tips

Who doesn’t like the Haloween? All the dressing ups, makeups, and treats! Every year we spend time to get prepared for the Haloween but never captured decent photos of all the efforts! In this series of articles, I am going to share Haloween Photography Tips.

Camera Preparation For Haloween Photography

Firstly, make sure that you fully charge the batteries. You don’t want to miss a shot just because you run out of battery!

Secondly, do not wait until the event starts. For telling a complete story, You need to capture a few images of the costume and makeup preparation too. Mainly if you add some before and after photos, it can enhance your visual story.

Camera settings for Haloween Photography

Generally speaking, there are three types oh Haloween photos;

Photos that you want to capture the moments

To obtain the moment’s images, you need to use relatively a faster shutter speed, 1/60s or faster. Therefore, you should use a higher ISO that can provide a faster shutter speed.

On the other note, I like my Haloween photographs a little darker and moody. Therefore, if you shoot in semi-automatic modes, shutter or aperture priority, use the Exposure Compensation to make them a little darker. You can read more about how to use the Exposure Compensation in this article:

However, if you shoot manual exposure, you can quickly achieve the moody images by underexposing the photos.
