LIGHTROOM PROFILES

Lightroom Profiles need more Love.

Last week, I talked about the Lightroom Survey View. For this Thursday’s Teds Editing Tip, I discuss the Lightroom Profiles and their uses.

Although Profiles don’t get the attention they deserve, they are another powerhouse for editing.

Using Lightroom Profiles

Lightroom has many built-in profiles, such as BW, Camera Setting, Artistic, Vintage, etc. You can create your customized profiles, just like the presets.

If there is a particular type of editing that you like and use a lot, creating a Profile can save you tons of time.

Where to Find Profiles

In the DEVELOP module on the right-hand side fo the BASIC tab, you find the Profiles:

Lightroom Profiles locate on the right-hand side of the BASIC tab in Develop madule.

Lightroom Profiles Vs Presets

Generally speaking, the Lightroom Presets are certain adjustments that you can apply to photos quickly. There is no easy way to control the strength of the adjustments of Presets.

On the other note, Lightroom Profiles provide the same quick adjustment settings, and it also offers the “Opacity” slider to control the density of the adjustments.

The picture below shows how a simple click on profiles changes the overall look of a photo.
