Easy steps to prevent getting dust on the sensor
There are easy steps that can help you to prevent getting dust on the sensor. As I discussed in the previous article, there is nothing that you can do to stop the dust, but these easy steps are really helpful.
We choose a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, not only because of the image quality, but also to be able to use different lenses. The image quality is mainly because of the sensor size, and using higher quality lenses. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Sensor Size
” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:35|text_align:left|color:%23aa3300|line_height:1″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]Generally speaking, all DSLR and Mirrorless cameras have larger sensors, Which means more static fields! Then one easy step to prevent getting dust on the sensor is whenever changing the lens make sure to turn off the camera. By turning off the camera, you reduce the charge on the sensor and therefore reducing the chance of getting dust on the sensor.
Changing Lens
Another risk factor of getting dust on the sensor is changing the lens. When you change the lens, you expose the internals of the camera to the outside elements such as dust particles and pollen (pollens are specially very sticky). Here is another easy step for you to prevent getting dust on the sensor. I have seen many people change the lens while lay their cameras on a surface face up! In the picture below, I showed a correct way to change the lens and reduce getting dust inside the camera. Please practice this step for couple of times on top of a soft area to master it. You don’t want to drop your precious lens on the hard floor![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”20747″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”slideInRight” title=”Correct way of changing the lens”][vc_column_text]Stay tuned for upcoming articles as I am going to discuss how to check for the dusty sensor, how to clean the sensor, and how to use Lightroom or Photoshop to remove the dust from photos, and as always feel free to contact us if you have more questions.
