A Simple Christmas Card Design Using Photoshop
Last week I posted how to design a Christmas Card, and I received many requests for the Free Template. Some of you also asked if there is a workflow for a Simple Christmas Card Design that doesn’t need too much work in Photoshop. In this article I am going to show you a very simple Christmas card design with minimum use of Photoshop tools. As always if you are to use this template, just LIKE OUR FACEBOOK page and send us a message. I will send you this Free template in Photoshop format to use. It contains fully functional Photoshop Layers that you can tweak them to your taste and use your own pictures.
Let’s get started[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Simple Christmas Card Design Using Photoshop
” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:35|text_align:left|color:%23aa3300|line_height:1″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]A– Open a new document in Photoshop. In this tutorial I used a 7×5 inch at 300 ppi format. (7X5 is a popular greeting card size.)
B– Create a new Layer and select the new layer
C– Use Photoshop Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a rectangle at the bottom of the page.
D– Select Paint Bucket tool. Then Pick up the colour that you wish to use. Click on the document and Photoshop fills the selection with colour.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”20192″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”slideInRight” title=”Simple Christmas Card Design”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Adding Decorative Photo/s” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:35|text_align:left|color:%23aa3300|line_height:1″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]E– Create a new Layer, go to File and select Place/Place Embedded, select the picture to decorate your card. You can use your own decorating photos or you can download images from the the internet. Adjust the size and place it. You can add as many decorations as you want, but try not to make it too busy!
F- Back to the document, select the background layer. Create a New layer above the background layer, go to File and select Place/Place Embedded again. Then select the picture that you like to use, Resize the photo and place it.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”20198″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”slideInRight” title=”Adding Photos “][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Adding Text” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:35|text_align:left|color:%23aa3300|line_height:1″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]G– Select Type tool. Type your message. For best result pick a bold or heavy font. I picked the colour from the decorative photo. Go to Layer, and select Layer Style. In this example I used Beveled and Embossed. Play with the sliders to make the desired effect.
H– Congratulations! your first Custom Design Christmas Cards are ready to be printed and mailed.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”20202″ img_size=”600×400″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”slideInRight” title=”Final Image”][vc_column_text]This is a very simple way to design your custom Christmas/Greeting cards. It is the best way to show your love to your family and friends.
