Tips for Photography in Snow.
Firstly, I want to wish you all a Happy New year. We face new challenges every year, yet 2021 may bring us some cheers and prosperity. Let’s get to this Monday’s Photo Tip, Photography in Snow.
.
Tips for successful Photography in Snow
Photography in the snow is challenging. It is very easy for the camera to miss the exposure and underexposes photos with all the white and bright background and foreground.
Your camera needs a little help in snowscapes. Here are two simple solutions to avoid underexposed images in the snow.
.
1- Exposure Compensation
Almost all digital cameras offer Exposure Compensation. Just set the Exposure Compensation to +1 to capture brighter and more detailed photos in the snow.
.
2- Spot Metering
Spot metering is an advanced feature in photography.
If your digital camera offers Spot Metering, learn if it is linked to the focusing point or sit in the frame’s centre. Then you can plan to use spot metering to achieve better exposure on snowy days.
