Nitobe Garden Photo Walk
A Field Photography Workshop
The Nitobe Memorial Garden is about a 2-acre traditional Japanese garden located at the University of British Columbia, just outside the city limits of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research.
The Nitobe Garden offers a year-long scenic landscape to photograph. Regardless of the time of the year, you can always find locations to capture fabulous images.
In this four-hour workshop, you learn how to spot a location, set up your camera, and use special techniques to enhance photos.
Your instructors, Ted Karlsalr and Brett Michaud teach you unique skills and tips to take amazing pictures and be proud of your achievements.
We pay the park admission fee.

Part 1: Landscape Photography Techniques
Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 10 am to 2 pm
Brett and Ted share their expertise in Landscape photography to show you how to locate a place, find the best focal view, and much more!
We also cover how to take photos using ND Filters, Long Exposure, creating the third dimension, and much more.
It is a four-hour hands-on class with two experts at your side to assist you.
Part 2: Editing Session
Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 6-9 pm
Landscape images straight from the camera need unique post-processing treatments to look their best. Course suitable for:
Nitobe Garden Photo Walk is an intensive and fun landscape workshop for intermediate to advanced users.
Participants should bring a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and a tripod. A tripod, ND and Polarizing filters are recommended.
