Autofocus Troubleshooting Tips
Has your camera autofocus misbehaved or missed focusing? In this post, I look into your camera’s basic Autofocus troubleshooting system.
Autofocus Troubleshooting Steps:
Take these steps for troubleshooting the autofocus system:
1- Check the Autofocus/Manual focus button. It is an obvious one but has happened to many photographers.
2- Your lens has a minimum focusing distance. Make sure that your subject is within the focusing range.
3- If your lens is hunting for focusing, possibly, your focusing point sits on a blank area. Move the focusing point to another location as the focusing system needs contrast or pattern to function.
4- Some entry-level cameras cannot autofocus in dim light. Switch to the manual focusing or use a flashlight to add brightness to the subject.
