Quick Camera Tip: VIEWPOINT

Viewpoint or Perspective in Photography

When we were brand new to photography, chances are good we all did the same thing: raised the camera to eye level and pressed the shutter. Of all the countless photographs taken every day and everywhere, most images are shot from the perspective of 5-6′. A great way to explore being a Rebel Photographer is to alter your point of view to lower or higher than what the overwhelming majority is doing.

Directional light in landscape photography and a low perspective created a dynamic image

Changing the camera’s height provides a different perspective, making photos more pleasing.

TRY THESE SIMPLE EXAMPLES:

1- Take a photo at your eye level

2- Go lower and take another picture of the same subject

3- Compare and see how the perspective changes and creates a pleasing image!
