Ted’s Editing Tips: Renaming Photos in Lightroom

Renaming Photos in Lightroom Tips

Renaming photos in Lightroom is another great way to organize your pictures.

One of the searchable criteria in Lightroom is the Text-based search. The searchable texts are Keywords and File Names.

I recommend adding keywords to all the images. However, it is sometimes hard to do, especially when there are many pictures without keywords.

Therefore, Renaming photos in Lightroom makes it easier to search for images.

Two Ways for Renaming Photos in Lightroom:

The camera-generated file name is useless to me. I’d instead prefer to have meaningful file names.

DISCLAIMER: When you rename photos in Lightroom, Lightroom changes the file names wherever they are stored.

Now, let’s look into renaming photos:

Method 1: You can rename photos while importing them to Lightroom. It is pretty straightforward. However, it would be best if you remembered to rename the new files every time you import a new batch.

What if You Already Have a Bunch of Images that You Want to Rename?

Method 2: This method is excellent if you already have many photos in Lightroom with camera-generated names.

Adobe made it very easy to rename photos in Lightroom. 1- Select images that you want to rename.

2- Click the LIBRARY on the top menu bar.

3- Select the “Rename Photo…” from the drop-down menu.

4- Select the custom text, and type the new name for photos.

Good job. You renamed photos to something more meaningful than a camera-generated file name!

Online Photography Lessons

Omnilargess Online Photography Lessons

In this time and age, photography is part of our daily life. During the COVID-19 lockdown, many of us had to slow down our daily photography routines. However, thanks to advanced internet technology, I was able to run a few online photography lessons for my clients. Those online lessons were very successful, and all the clients were delighted with the photography techniques that they learned.

New Way in Learning Online

Online lesson is going to be the new way of learning.

Nothing can Beat Comprehensive Photography Lessons.

There are many online photography classes, but most of them cover the topics in general, not individually. However, Omnilargess Online Classes are kind of like private lessons but online. You can rest assured that you receive the same care and attention as you are in a private session with the instructor.

One on One Online Photography Lessons

Our online Photography Lessons are customized for you. Therefore, the instructor discusses the materials that are relevant to your photography needs. For instance, one of our online clients wanted to learn how to upload her pictures to different social media using the Lightroom. So, I planned the one on one online class for her and covered all ins and outs in a session. She was extremely excited when she learned the skills in a short time.

What is Covered in Online classes?

Omnilargess Online photography class is like a blank canvas! It means that you can ask for any photography lessons, from understanding the features of your camera, learning and operating Lightroom or Photoshop, working on your photos in computers, and anything photography related. Thus, you decide the topics and timing for the sessions, and we will deliver the lessons.

Online or in Location Workshops
