Nikon D500 Ready For Rental
I am very pleased to announce that the new Nikon D500 is available for rental. Generally speaking when you start shooting the full frame camera, you don’t want to go back and shoot in APSC size sensor. I had the same idea, but Nikon D500 is a different beast! Its speed, Dynamic Range and Noise management are par with a full frame camera! Here is a little more information from Nikon Canada:
Flagship Power, DX Agility.
Why use an APSC sensor?
The main reason for shooting in APSC size sensor is the Crop Factor. As the Nikon D500 has a slightly smaller sensor, it uses the centre part of the image that lens creates, Which is the sweet spot and the sharpest part. On the other note you get a 1.5X magnification from the lens focal length. In short a 200mm telephoto lens works as a 300mm lens. This is the biggest advantage of APSC size sensor over the full frame sensor.
Many Wildlife and Sport photographers prefer this crop factor and use the feature to capture a closer and sharper image.
The disadvantages of a cropped sensor are, lack of Dynamic Range, slower focusing, and more noise in high ISO shooting. Somehow Nikon addressed these issues completely in the new D500. Here are some samples that I took using D500.
I have also created three new rental packages for the D500 for you according to different genres.
