Easy Steps To Create Lightroom User Presets
In a previous article, I covered Lightroom Presets and how they can speed up our post-processing. This tutorial will show you easy steps to create Lightroom User Presets according to your taste or photography style.
What is Lightroom Preset?
Presets are certain adjustments that will be applied to pictures by clicking only one button. Lightroom is shipped with lots of default Presets, but you may or may not like all of them. Or want to tweak them to match your style.
There are tons of third-party presets available, some even free, that you can install and use, but in most cases, they do not represent your photography or branding style.
So get ready to create your very first Lightroom User Preset!
Creating a Lightroom User Presets for Instagram
For this Thursday’s Ted’s Editing Tips, I look into making a Lightroom User Preset.
Let’s get started by creating a Lightroom Preset for Instagram, and I want to call it “Morning Glow”!
In Lightroom, go to Develop module and start editing one photo. For instance, I cropped the image to 1X1, adjusted the Highlights and Shadows, increased the Whites to represent the brightness and contrast of a Summer Morning.

When you are happy with the result, go to the PRESET panel, and click the (+) to create a preset with these settings.
In the next window, check the adjustment that you want to save, and save the preset. All done!
Now that you created the preset, it is effortless to apply a consistent look to all the images you want to just by one click.
