Let’s Start Summer Photography Off on the Right Foot With These Tips!

Summer is full of fun, so is summer photography! These tips are easy to remember, and they can improve your landscape photos.

No matter what camera you use, try these tips and enjoy your summer photography even more.

Avoid Mid Day Light

Summer Photography Tip
Avoid Mid Day Light. Use early morning or late afternoon light.

1- Avoid Mid-day Sun

In Landscape photography, noon is the worst time for taking photos. The Sun is at the highest point and creates unflattering shadows. Early morning or late afternoon is the perfect time for Landscape photography; shadows and highlights are more complimentary.

Camera Orientation

The orientation and height of the camera can make a huge difference in your photographs

2- Create a Balance

Use different camera orientations to create a balance in images. For instance, if all elements in the frame are vertical, by using the camera in the upright position, you can create a balance in the image. It brings us to my third tip:

3- Eye-level Is Not Flattering

Eye-level composition is very static, even boring! Add a little dynamic to photos by lowering the camera height.

Keep the horizon straight!

4- Horizon

Keep the horizon straight or entirely crooked. Also, pay attention to the placement of the horizon in the frame. As a rule of thumb, the horizon shouldn’t be in the centre of the frame.

I know these tips help you take your summer photography to the next level.
