Framing, A Powerful Visual Effect
Composition plays a significant role in visual arts, especially in photography. Here is a tip for Framing your subject by Brett Michaud Photography.
Brett’s Composition Tip
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27531″ img_size=”600×600″ title=”Frame Your Subject”][vc_column_text]Ansel Adams once said, “A good photograph is knowing where to stand.” What Mr. Adams is referring to, of course, is composition.
There are many guidelines to follow when composing a shot. The image above is an example of Framing.
Framing is a technique whereby you make the main subject of your image stand out by placing a natural “frame” around it.
This technique could be a subject strategically placed between two trees or, in this case, a waterfall with a swath of contrasting foliage that sweeps around the subject.
This composition effectively draws the viewer’s eye into the subject and adds context to the image.
So, the next time you’re out in the field looking for compositions, try to find something in the environment that you can use to frame your subject. And of course, don’t forget to share your images with us![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
