Transform Your Photos with a Few Clicks: A Guide to Changing Object Colours in Lightroom
Have you ever taken a photo of an object only to realize that the colour didn’t entirely turn out how you wanted it to? Don’t worry—you’re not alone! Fortunately, Adobe Lightroom offers a simple and effective solution to this problem. In this post, we’ll walk you through the steps for changing the colour of an object in Lightroom.
Changing Object Colours in Lightroom Step by Step
Step 1: Import your photo into Lightroom
First things first, you need to import your photo into Lightroom. To do this, click the “Import” button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and select the image you want to edit.
Step 2: Select the object you want to change the colour of
Using the powerful ‘Adjustment Brush’ tool, you can precisely select the object you want to change the colour of. You have complete control over the brush size, which you can adjust using the slider on the right-hand side of the screen, giving you the precision you need for your edits.
Step 3: Adjust the color
Once you’ve selected the object, navigate to the ‘Color’ panel. This panel houses various tools and settings related to colour adjustments. Click on the colour swatch to bring up the colour picker. From here, you can choose the colour you want to change the object to. You can also adjust the saturation and luminance of the colour using the sliders.
Step 4: Refine the selection
After you’ve adjusted the colour, you may need to refine the selection using the ‘Erase’ brush. This brush removes any unwanted colour from areas you don’t want to change. Click and drag over the areas you want to erase, and Lightroom will remove the selected colour from those areas.
Step 5: Save your changes
Once satisfied with your changes, click the ‘Done’ button. This action finalizes your edits and saves them in Lightroom. It’s important to note that once you click ‘Done,’ you won’t be able to undo your changes, so make sure you’re happy with them before proceeding.
