A Quick Tip On Camera Setting For Seascape Photos
I decided to share a Camera Setting tip every Monday.
This tip is about Seascape photography by @BrettMichaud, our new instructor. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”26991″ img_size=”600×600″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”fadeIn” title=”Seascape Photography Tip”][vc_column_text]
Seascape Photography Tip by Brett Michaud
On this rather dark, overcast day, I wanted to capture the stormy feel of the ocean by freezing the motion in the water and showing the size of the sea. It required a fast shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second. The use of f/11 provided an adequate depth of field.
The low ambient light levels coupled with the mid-range aperture setting and fast shutter speed meant I needed to use ISO 320 to achieve a good exposure.
It’s important to remember that when photographing ocean waves, it is always wise to underexpose your image by a ½ to 1 full stop, so the crests of the waves are not blown out.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
