Quick Camera Tip: WHY SHOOTING MANUAL

TIPS FOR WHY SHOOTING MANUAL

I am back from my vacation, fresh and ready to rock, and I want to share a few reasons you should consider shooting Manual for better pictures for this Monday’s tip.

SEMI-AUTOMATIC VS MANUAL

Using the Semi-automatic settings, Shutter Priority or Aperture priority is an improvement. But upgrading to a shooting manual should be your goal.
.
In semi-automatic settings, you control the shutter speed or the aperture, and your camera sets the other factor.

WHAT IF YOU WANT TO USE A FASTER SHUTTER SPEED WHILE USING A HIGHER APERTURE TO EXPAND THE FOCUSING RANGE?

This example shows how the shooting manual gives you complete control.

ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPOSURE!

Checking Exposure is the essential part of manual shooting. Always keep an eye on the camera’s built-in light meter.
.
You can find the built-in light meter inside the viewfinder and on the Camera’s LCD. I strongly suggest practicing checking the Exposure constantly to make it your second nature!
.
