Post-processing has a significant place in photography. It can be just a little retouching or going over-board. In this post, I talk about the Significance of Photo Editing for photographers.
What is Post-Processing AKA Photo Editing?
Generally speaking, Photo Editing is retouching and adjustments that photographers apply to enhance images. It can be as subtle as Cropping the photo or as extensive as you can imagine.
Showcasing the Significance of Photo Editing in Pictures
The best way to describe the significance of photo editing is visual. So, without any further ado, let’s dive into some pictures before and after editing. In this post, I cover three primary levels in photo editing.
Level 1 Photo Editing
At this level, photographers enhance images just by simple actions such as Cropping to remove distractions from the photos. Here is a sample of before and after cropping:
Level 2 Photo Editing:
At this level, photographers need to adjust the Exposure, White Balance, Etc in addition to level one to enhance the picture. Here is the sample:
Level 3 Photo Editing:
At this level, photographers need to not only crop, adjust the Exposure, White Balance, Etc; they need to add or remove elements from the picture to clean up the image. Here is a sample:
