Lightroom Presets Step by Step

Step 1: Select a photo to use as the base for your preset

To start, open Lightroom and select a photo that you want to use as the base for your preset. This photo should be representative of the type of look you want to achieve. Make sure the photo is properly exposed and composed before you begin making edits.

Step 2: Make edits and adjustments

Once you have selected your base photo, make any edits or adjustments you want to include in your preset. This might include adjustments to exposure, contrast, color, sharpness, etc. You can also add any filters or effects that you want to include in your preset.

Step 3: Create a new preset

Once you have made your edits, it’s time to create a new preset. Go to the Develop module and click on the plus sign in the Presets panel. This will bring up a dialog box where you can name your preset and select the settings you want to include.

Step 4: Apply your preset to other photos

Once you have created your preset, you can apply it to other photos to see how it looks. To apply a preset, simply select a photo and click on the preset in the Presets panel. You can also use the shortcut key Ctrl + Shift + L (Mac: Command + Shift + L) to apply the last used preset.

Step 5: Tweak and fine-tune your preset

After you’ve applied your preset to other photos, you may want to make some further adjustments. Once you are happy with your preset, you can save it and use it again on other photos.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/ruECnOpv3Ck” title=”Create Lightroom Presets”][vc_column_text]Creating your own Lightroom preset can be a great way to achieve a consistent look across your photos and streamline your editing workflow. With a little practice, you’ll be able to create presets that match your unique style and help you achieve the look you want.
