Lightroom Adaptive Presets

Lightroom Adaptive Presets

Explore New Lightroom Adaptive Presets

Lightroom Adaptive Presets are one of the latest additions to Lightroom Classic. They are powered by AI, and they will adapt to each image – hence the name.

Using regular presets, the same masks would be applied every time you used them. But adaptive Presets examine each photo, then apply masks and adjust them accordingly.

In this article, I explain three of the most popular ones: Adaptive Portrait, Adoptive Sky and Adoptive Subject Presets.

Adaptive Portrait Presets

As its name suggests, these presets work on portraits. There are eleven different presets, each working by creating a mask and applying certain adjustments. It makes different masks for different body parts, such as face or body skin, hair, lips, etc.

Adaptive Sky Preset

As the name suggests, it applies certain adjustments to the sky in photos. There are five presets that can be used as good starting points.

Adaptive Subject Presets

This preset selects the main subject and makes the subject pop out. There are six ready presets.

I like to use these Adaptive presets to speed up the editing process. However, I do not always completely agree with the suggested adjustments. Therefore, after applying the preset, I will start tweaking the mask to bring them to my liking.
